SundaHus Assessment Criteria
What are SundaHus assessments based on?
The backbone of SundaHus’ services is our database of building products, each assessed according to SundaHus' criteria.
The assessments are based on documentation provided by the supplier—either through the customer or directly from the manufacturer—at the time of the assessment request.
This documentation is reviewed against SundaHus’ established assessment criteria before the product and its result are displayed in the SundaHus database.
What criteria does SundaHus use?
SundaHus' assessment criteria cover various aspects such as: The product's chemical content, Emissions of volatile substances, Product lifespan and How the product should be handled when it becomes waste
The criteria are mainly based on: European and national legislation, Market standards and Requirements from various building certification systems
Depending on how well a product meets the current criteria—based on available information—the result is a rating of A, B, C+, C-, or D, where A represents the highest level.
How do the SundaHus rating levels work?
These rating levels can be used as a benchmark when setting product requirements in projects, but they do not represent a general approval or rejection for use in a project.
SundaHus does not certify, approve, or recommend individual products—the goal is to provide independent decision support.
