FAQ
Suppliers of products assessed in SundaHus Material Data can use the SundaHus logo in their marketing. Learn more about how to do it here.
Chemical products always require a Material Safety Data Sheet, which provides information on the chemical hazards associated with the products. This document is legally binding for chemical products and should therefore always be made available by suppliers.
For both chemical and other products, we request building product declarations or any other form of environmental declaration (e.g. a customized form of environmental product declaration, EPD, PEP).
The documents should also contain a sufficient amount of information in order to be considered complete (see checklist for details). In our checklist you can see what specific data we look for in different product categories.
A template for the Building Product Declaration can be found on the following website. We encourage you to also provide product information sheets, operating and maintenance instructions, emisson reports and ecolabelling certification where applicable.
It is inappropriate for SundaHus to help fill out a Building Product Declaration (BPD) considering the fact that SundaHus will then use this document as a basis for an environmental assessment. This could lead to bias and put the company in a conflict of interest. SundaHus may, however, provide suggestions on how and what type of information to present in the document and then refer to other companies that assist in the filling out of BPDs.
In order to report errors in assessmens, you must be logged in to your supplier account. You can find the link "Rapportera fel" at the bottom of each product assessment page. SundaHus chemists will then deal with the matterand send a response on what has been done.
The project client decides on the environmental requirements for the products and therefore is also responsible for the approval process. Contact the project client if unsure on what environmental requirements apply for the project.
SundaHus Material Data is a web-based system that supports property owners in structuring and documenting product information.
The system can be used to register product selections, access assessments based on predefined criteria, and create traceability across project phases.
SundaHus aims to support conscious material choices by providing information on product content – including substances classified as undesirable – and helping users align with relevant project requirements and external frameworks.
SundaHus customers are primarily long-term property owners. We have customers all over Sweden, both in the public and private sectors. We see a steady increase in customers who intend to seek customized solutions and a competent partner. Customers often have high aspirations, but above all, they aim at conducting efficient and systematic work.
Engaged customers and clear internal routines are key to working effectively with material-related requirements.
SundaHus supports this process through a well-established methodology, training, advisory services, customer support, and system features that help create structure and traceability in projects. These tools are designed to align with the needs of different roles and stages in the construction and management process.
SundaHus provides digital tools and advisory services that help structure and document product-related information throughout the construction and management process.
Each project is assigned a dedicated contact person who can provide guidance, facilitate training sessions, and support project participants in using the SundaHus system effectively.
With experience in chemistry, documentation standards and system development, we offer a structured approach that aligns with various project needs and helps enable conscious material choices based on established criteria.
Before you place an assessment order, make sure to have all thedocumentation at hand as that will speed up the process and help avoid delays. Please read our terms and conditions for further information.
BPD is the abbreviation for Building Product Declaration (in Swedish BVD), which is a basis for assessing the environmental impact of a product at different stages of the life cycle. There are various templates available for this. You can find our template in English, Swedish or Danish.

With your supplier account, you can update documents directly in SundaHus Material Data. On the supplier page, you get an overview of your brands and can reach the assessment of the brand's products. On each product page, you can either choose to update the document already connected to the assessment or suggest a new document that should be added. Note: You can only update the document this way if they are available on the web. If the documents are not available on the web you can send the documents (preferably in PDF format) to docs@sundahus.se.
After clicking on "Forgot password" on the log in module, and following the instructions, a new password will be sent to your email.
The licensee (often the project client) makes it possible for project participants to get free SundaHus accounts. Log in information is sent to all project participants responsible for registering products in the project.
For SundaHus, conscious material choices refer to the structured selection and documentation of products based on predefined criteria and available product information.
This includes registering products and substances, regardless of their properties, to enable traceability throughout the project. As scientific knowledge develops, substances may be reclassified, which is why comprehensive documentation is essential – even when substitution is not possible.
There are many aspects to consider when selecting products, such as function, quality, price, energy use and aesthetics. Because of this, not all choices can be made solely based on chemical content. That’s why clear and structured documentation is valuable – both during the project and for future reference.
By documenting product content at substance level, SundaHus provides support for maintaining transparency about what is used in a building over time.
SundaHus Material Data includes features that help users manage product information in a consistent and organized way throughout the building process.
One example is our project report, which is commonly used to follow up on defined requirements and internal targets. The system also offers integration capabilities with BIM platforms and property management systems – making it possible to link material data with broader digital project workflows.
