Improved Notifications and New Layout in Questions & Answers

We continue to develop the Q&A experience based on valuable insights and requests from our customers. This update includes the first two steps in a planned series of four improvements. Together, they make it easier to stay updated, find the right information, and manage project communication more smoothly.

Improved Notifications in Questions & Answers

Customers have requested clearer notifications with faster access to the right content. Based on this feedback, we have improved both the structure and content of our Q&A notifications.

    Value
The updated notifications make it easier to understand what has happened, follow up on important dates, and respond to new questions. The notifications are now more informative and consistent, whether shown in email or in the browser.

What’s new – Email notifications now include:

    • Description of the binder's back cover
    • Clearly displayed question number (#)
    • An icon showing if attachments are present
    • Direct link to the specific question

All improvements follow the same structure as our new in-browser notifications to ensure a unified experience across all channels.

Layout Improvements in Questions & Answers

In addition to notification improvements, we are introducing several layout updates in Q&A. These make the interface more intuitive, more visual, and easier to navigate. Some features were added during internal evaluation and are marked as new since internal release.

What’s new – Improved Card View:

    • A dedicated “Decisions” tab for easier focus on ongoing questions
    • Collapse and expand all categories with one click
    • Clear visual indicators for ongoing and delayed questions
    • “Answers” – new since internal release

    Updated Question Classification:
Mandatory fields are now more clearly marked, and labels have been refined to better explain how questions are categorized and where they originate. This increases clarity and consistency between projects.

    New List View:
The list view has been rebuilt with powerful filtering options similar to the new start page. It’s now easier to find questions by responsible party, category, source, or due date.

The list view also allows you to choose which columns to display. Available columns:

    • ID
    • Title
    • Description
    • From
    • Responsible
    • Category
    • Source
    • Due date
    • Updated
    • Status
    • Decision
    • Latest comment – new since internal release
    • Attachment indicator – new since internal release

    Summary

These improvements make Q&A faster, clearer, and easier to use. With improved notifications and more flexible layouts, users get better overviews, smoother navigation, and more effective follow-up throughout the project lifecycle.

Bulk Edit Multiple Issues at Once

We know many users need to update multiple items at once—such as changing the responsible person, updating due dates, or adjusting priorities.

    What’s new:

    • You can now select multiple issues directly in list view, card view, or Gantt view
    • Clearly see if a field contains mixed values, identical values, or is ready for input
    • Edit individual issues when needed—even when multiple are selected

In bulk edit view, you can still update a single issue if you want. This view is always collapsed by default, based on tests showing performance drops with too many items edited at once.

We’ve also had to limit which fields can be bulk edited. Some fields are excluded because changes require extra steps (e.g., adding a message when changing status or setting a flag), making them too complex to include at this stage.
